Au Revoir

It's hard to believe we've been in paris for a week!
We've seen and done so many wonderful things.

Today we took a bus trip to a small museum where one of
Paris' stars from the 60's-70's had fashions on display.

After that we came back to the area where we've been staying to
have a free day. Most of the gals went shopping. Ann and I
broke from the group and ate lunch.

I saw the storm trooper helmet and said something to this guy about it.
So he put it on and let me take his picture.

It started raining just as we left the restaurant so we ducked in a doorway
until it passed.

We came back to the room and started packing our goodies for our trek back to Tennessee.
I actually have room to spare!  Not much...but some!

After we got that done we strolled around the streets just a bit more.
Ann bought some tarts and we brought them back to enjoy in our room.
They were yummy!

This is me enjoying a lemon tart.

Tonight we will go to a celebration dinner that Katherine and Marcy
host. I'm not sure what to expect, but I'm sure it will be fun.

This week has been so inspiring and so enlightening.
I'm so thankful for this experience.
I'm excited to get home and play with the fabrics and finds,
and see my sweet family.
Grateful.

Thursday Part Deux

The next part of our day, we toured the Le Marais. It is an older part of Paris.
It was upscale shopping. We saw some really unique items.
I learned that one of the gals was going back to the fabric district, so
I tracked her down and we went together.
Ann stayed and shopped with the other gals.

We met back up with the group at the D'Orsay, but
some of us were worn out and took a taxi back to the hotel.

What day is it ?? I've lost track!

I know it's Thursday, but I really had to think about it!

We have had lovely weather this week.  It rained early on,
but it has been perfect for the days where we've been outside.

Our day began at the Orangerie where we saw Monet's Water Lilies and other
impressionist work.  I walked through and then sat outside and enjoyed the birds and pretty sky.
I was near the Ferris Wheel so I took a few shots of that.

Once again we saw film crew stuff in front of the Orangerie.   It looked like a staging
area with a kinds of trailers and such.

Ann got to ride this this evening.

This was on the window of the bus.

Afternoon Stroll

We worked up an appetite looking at all the art.
We went to a cute little hole in the wall and had lunch.

This area of Paris is very posh and we did some "window licking"
which how the French say window shopping.
I'm not sure how well these will show up.
The reflections may be too much to see inside, but have to try anyway.

The Louvre

We began our day at The Louvre to see a Vermeer exhibition.

We then went to Musee des Arts Decoratifs and
saw some modern art and an exhibition
centered around art women have made.

Tuesday Morning

Bonjour!
But for us it's Bonsior!
Yet another FABULOUS day in Paris.

We started the day by touring Palais Royale. It is a peaceful place
to stroll early in the day. People were walking their dogs. We saw a young
couple having their picture made, probably for engagement pictures.
There are some high end shops there where we peeked in the windows and drooled.

As we headed out of this area, we thought we could exit a certain spot, but we were asked (told)
to turn around and go another way. Well, the reason was...movie filming.
Hummm. Probably that same Tom Cruise movie. ???
I'll skip ahead to later in the day and tell you we saw a VIP tour bus
Leaving that area later in the day. I've convinced myself that Tom was on that bus.

We spent our afternoon at Monet's home and gardens where we
toured the famous water garden with the lovely
green bridges. Absolutely beautiful.

When we got back to the hotel it was time for dinner. Our guides
took us to a beautiful restaurant that was decorated in 1920's style.
It was gorgeous. I ate...hamburger and fries.
Ann ate a chicken dinner that came out in a copper pot and the waiter served her
and filled her plate.
